Construction of the Peres Peace House structure has been completed. The entire façade is in place, including all three floors, comprised of an auditorium, workshop rooms, and executive offices. Visitors to the Peace House can appreciate the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean provided by the large windows on the second and third floors.
As the structure itself is now complete, finishing work is currently being undertaken. Progress is being made on the flooring, glassware, water systems, walls, and more. In addition, all electro-mechanical systems are being installed, comprising heating/air-conditioning systems, computers/technological systems, and lighting.
Finally, the architectural landscaping is being planned, including the Peace Garden – a magnificent outdoor area comprised of multiple layers and levels, plants, pathways and sitting areas that leads from the Peace House down to the shore. Significantly, the Peace Garden marks the end of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa promenade, and as such, is sure to attract numerous tourists and visitors who frequent the walkway.
It is expected that construction of the building will be completed by the end of 2008. In order to officially unveil this important structure, a major inauguration event will be held inOctober 2008, coinciding with the ten-year anniversary celebration of the Peres Center for Peace.
