The Peres Center has been approached by various individuals and communities that seek to mark a special occasion or celebration through their support for peacebuilding activities. Through the Peres Center’s website, which offers online credit-card donations that are tax deductible in the United States (501(c)3 status), donations can be made “on behalf of” or “in memory of” a special person (or event). Importantly, attractive certificates are prepared for these donations and are forwarded to the relevant person.

An important category of such ‘Special Occasion Giving’ reaches out to Bar and Bat Mitzvah youth through the “B’nei Mitzvah for Peace” initiative. B’nei Mitzvah youth can greatly contribute to the Peres Center’s wide array of peacebuilding activities, by raising vital funds for such cross-border work in honor of their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. The B’nei Mitzvah youth can either choose to donate funds to the Peres Center and have the organization allocate it to where it is most needed, or choose a specific field or project which they would like to support. Each B’nei Mitzvah receives a personal contact within the Peres Center with whom he or she may consult with along the way, and receives custom-designed certificates for each donation.
