Training Doctors and Medical Professionals

Israel is known globally for its innovative and pioneering medicine. This serves as an important bridge between Israel and the rest of the world. Recognizing the significant opportunity for cooperation, the Peres Center established comprehensive medical training programs to share Israeli knowledge and best practices with our Palestinian neighbors.

This program enables outstanding Palestinian medical professionals to receive training in Israel for a period of several years, with every physician assigned to a mentor - an Israeli senior physician. Palestinian doctors become an integral part of the host Israeli hospital staff. Once their training is complete, the doctors return to the hospitals that referred them to the program and become leaders in the Palestinian health system.

To date, 250 doctors and medical personnel have been trained in various fields, in turn treating over 1 million Israeli patients during their training. Today, dozens of Palestinian doctors are in training in hospitals throughout Israel.
